This is a copy of a form we need  to fill in when we need to take out equipments. This form icludes information about where, when and things we would be filming. It also includes safety informations such as first aids, transportation, nearest police station and nearest hospital.

Weekly Updates - (Abigail Odum)

Week 7

 This week we finally went to film the interview with the pharmacist, however when we got back to the editing suite and watched the footage we found that the lighting was bad and so was the framing as the room we used to interview was really small so as the camera person i found it quite difficult to follow the rule of thirds. We did get good cutaways from that location so we are going to include those in the documentary and hopefully our second interview with the second pharmacist goes well. To ensure that there aren't any problems we will go to the location to make sure the lighting and everything is good so that we can film the interview successfully.

 We hope to have finished filming all our interviews and a majority of our cut-aways by the 8th of November, this way we can get started on the final drafts of our posters and our radio trailers. Also as next week is half-term we hope to finish everything on our blog and i will be changing the blog layout once again as i feel i can create a better layout than the one we have now.

 Here are a few articles, graphs, newspapers and statistics we have looked into, in relation to our subject matter. As a group we were also thinking of adding some of these into our actual documentary as these articles, newspapers, statistics ect are quite informative, which is the category our documentary falls into.

BBFC (Victoria Nwaeze)

Every production needs an age certification. This is were the BBFC falls into it, the "British Board Of Film Classification" sets out rules and regulations in which one has to abide by when choosing an age classification suitable for their production, in our case, documentary.

The BBFC states that when you are choosing an age certificate for your production you have to take in consideration :

Nudity
Drugs
Horror
Imitable behaviour
Sex
Language
Theme
violence

For this documentary "Young people and contraception-Is it right?" we have chosen to use the age certificate of 12, we came to this decision by taking into consideration the BBFC standards and our targeted audience which is 13-19. In relation with our target audience we thought 12 will be the best, even though we are not targeting 12 year olds, having looked at the BBFC standards of a 12 certificate we feel the content of our documentary matches the criteria, also as the next step up would have been 15 which was not realy appropriate.

Discrimination
Discriminatory language or behaviour must not be
endorsed by the work as a whole. Aggressive
discriminatory language or behaviour is unlikely
to be acceptable unless clearly condemned.

Drugs
Any misuse of drugs must be infrequent and shouldnot be glamorised or give instructional detail.

Horror
Moderate physical and psychological threat may bepermitted, provided disturbing sequences are not
frequent or sustained.

Imitable behaviour
Dangerous behaviour (for example, hanging, suicide andself-harming) should not dwell on detail which could be copied, or appear pain or harm free. Easily accessible
weapons should not be glamorised.

Language
Moderate language is allowed. The use of strong language (for example, ‘fuck’) must be infrequent.

Nudity
Nudity is allowed, but in a sexual context must be brief and discreet.

Sex
Sexual activity may be briefly and discreetly portrayed.Sex references should not go beyond what is suitable foryoung teenagers. Frequent crude references are unlikely to be acceptable.

Theme
Mature themes are acceptable, but their treatment must be suitable for young teenagers.

Violence
Moderate violence is allowed but should not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood,but occasional gory moments may be permitted if justified by the context.

Week 6


 So far this week we filmed a woman who teaches at a secondary school and deals with teenagers. We wanted to get her opinion on the subject matter also we asked if it was required of teachers to provide students with contraception. The interview was very successful and everything went according to plan. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we were unable to interview the pharmacist this week however we have rescheduled the interview for next week. In addition to this we carried on doing more work on our blog and i changed the layout as i didn't think it related to our subject matter.

 By next week we hope to interview a nurse who works with young people and two pharmacists with opposing views on our subject matter,
